Following the 'Slavery Era Insurance Policies Act' in California and Illinois, the state of Iowa follows suit by writing to insurance companies to report of any records pertaining to slaveholder insurance policies issued by any predecessor corporation during the slavery era. The policy is adopted on 13 March 2003 and the results are submitted on 1 December 2004, but reveal no new information to that stated in the California and Illinois reports.
